Chuck is the founding partner of Silverman & Light, Inc., a Bay Area electrical engineering and lighting design firm established in 1976. Over the course of his leadership at Silverman & Light he has acquired vast experience in the design and implementation of electrical engineering, lighting and energy systems in just about every kind of building imaginable. He is a licensed Electrical and Control Systems Engineer and an accomplished lighting designer. He also has extensive experience in health care buildings of all kinds, commercial office space and educational buildings.

Over the past 10 years Chuck has managed, championed and implemented projects for Lighting Efficiency Retrofits, Photovoltaic systems, combined heat and power Co-generation, and Fuel Cells. Further, Chuck has become obsessively engaged in all things related to energy efficiency. He is a voracious researcher and is proficient at applying financial analysis techniques to current and emerging energy technologies, methods and applications.

Chuck is trained in EPA/DOE EnergyStar Benchmarking and Target Finder, and an accomplished energy auditor. All of his efforts start with a solid business case model and maintain that focus throughout the process.

Chuck is an excellent team player skilled in identifying each client’s particular needs and then working toward achieving consensus among all stakeholders, from owners and users to public administrators alike. His sincere interest in the people involved in each project as well as his passion for all things related to energy efficiency, helps to steer all of Chuck’s projects to a successful conclusion.
