Progressive Architecture
David Gadarian has been practicing architecture since 1985. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, a LEED certified professional, and a licensed architect in the State of California. David has been directly involved in the design and construction of numerous projects that have received international, national and/or local awards. As Lead Architect at BASEnergy, David Gadarian brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as both a designer and project director. This enables him to implement seamlessly designed, sustainable energy systems that are well-suited to any building type.
David draws from 17 of experience working as the Lead Designer/ Project Director for Heery International. There he was directly involved in the design and construction of a widely diverse range of building types including offices, hospitals, medical facilities, laboratories, sports complexes, industrial facilities, memorials, hotel and convention centers, as well as mixed-use and retail spaces. Clients have included both public and private sector entities with project budgets ranging in scale from $500,000 to $150 million.
Prior to joining Heery, David worked in the offices of Holt, Hinshaw, Pfau & Jones; Skidmore Owings Merrill; Lanfranco Benvenutti in Italy; and has managed his own independent practice. For the past 20 years his role has been that of Project Director / Lead Designer, focused on design, while also directly involved in all aspects from concept, feasibility studies, cost, scheduling to completion of construction.
David was an early adopter of sustainability and energy efficiency in building design. For his graduate school thesis back in 1985, he developed the blue print for a fully functional, self-sustained, “off the grid” prefabricated home. Since then, all of his work has been directed with an eye toward sustainability and efficiency.
Complementing his professional activities, David has taught, lectured and participated in architectural juries at UC Berkeley, California College of Arts and Crafts, and the University of Florida.
